Spotify, SXM, iHeart Again Lead U.S. Podcast Networks for Weekly Reach
Edison Research announces the Top 10 Podcast Networks in the U.S. based on average weekly network reach for the third quarter of 2023. The Top Podcast Networks are ranked by the reach of the producer or network that represents the advertising for the show, not the platform or app that the listener uses to access the podcast.
Spotify, SiriusXM Podcast Network, and iHeartRadio again take the top three spots, as they did in Q2 2023.
The list ranks podcast networks based on total audience reach from Edison Podcast Metrics. In the second quarter of 2023, Edison fielded surveys every day, with a total sample size of 5,409 among weekly podcast listeners ages 13 and older. Respondents are asked on an unaided basis to list all the shows they had listened to in the week before being contacted, and then their listening is rolled up to the network level based on those responses. Rankings are compiled by measuring the total unduplicated reach of all the shows represented by a given network. Data is weighted to the universe of podcast listeners obtained from The Infinite Dial, the ‘gold standard’ measurement of total podcast listening, also from Edison Research.
