The Top U.S. Podcast Networks Based on Reach, Q1 2024

By Edison Research

Spotify, SXM, iHeart Continue to lead U.S. Podcast Networks for Weekly Reach

Edison Research announces the Top 10 Podcast Networks in the U.S. based on average weekly network reach for the first quarter of 2024. The Top Podcast Networks are ranked by the reach of the producer or network that represents the advertising for the show, not the platform or app that the listener uses to access the podcast.

Spotify, SiriusXM Podcast Network, and iHeartRadio continue to hold the top three spots, as they did in Q4 of the previous year. For Q1 2024, The New York Times rises one spot to #7 while Audacy drops two spots to #9. NPR rises two spots to #8 and Studio71 enters the Top 10 list for the first time at #10.

Who does it measure?

The list ranks podcast networks based on total audience reach from Edison Podcast Metrics.

How was it measured?

In the first quarter of 2024, Edison fielded surveys every day with a total sample size of 5,300 among weekly podcast listeners ages 13 and older.

How is listening recorded?

Respondents are asked on an unaided basis to list all the shows they had listened to in the week before being contacted, and then their listening is rolled up to the network level based on those responses.

How are rankings compiled?

Rankings are compiled by measuring the total unduplicated reach of all the shows represented by a given network.

How is the data weighted?

Data is weighted to the universe of weekly podcast listeners obtained from The Infinite Dial 2024, also from Edison Research.
