While audio-only podcasts remain a staple, video podcast engagement is reshaping content consumption, particularly among Latino listeners. This week’s insight provides a sneak peek into the Latino Podcast Listener Report 2024, supported by LWC Studios, Latino Media Network, Libsyn, SiriusXM Podcast Network, and Uforia Podcasts.
Podcasts are a key source of entertainment for U.S. Latinos – 43% of Latinos age 18+ are monthly podcast listeners. While audio-only podcasts continue to hold strong appeal, even more Latino listeners are engaging with video podcasts.
Seventy-two percent of U.S. monthly Latino podcast listeners 18+ consume audio-only podcasts. However, video podcasts drive even greater engagement with 86% of U.S. monthly Latino podcast listeners 18+ actively watching video while listening and 66% having video play in the background or minimized on their device while listening. The growing popularity of video highlights its increasing role as an integral part of podcasting.
The Latino Podcast Listener Report 2024 marks its fifth anniversary, offering insights from five years of trending data and unveiling new findings about the Latino podcast audience. For the first time, the report will include video interviews with podcast creators who will share how they’ve used past research to grow their audiences and strengthen connections with Latino listeners.
